Kennedy shoots with the second life of the image already in mind: printing, painting, cutting and rebuilding it by hand. Collage changes the photograph before the scissors even arrive.

Discarded plush toys return as uneasy guardians

For Apotropaia, Sungho Bae retrieves plush toys from waste sites, opens them up and rebuilds them around armatures with leather, clay, feathers and ritual objects. Waste comes back as an uneasy guardian.

Good Screens gathers quieter, narrower and more physical devices. Its useful idea: put “fewer functions” back into the designer’s toolbox.
